Day 5 of the 16days of Activism, we continue to stand for women and girls by commemorating the International Women Human Rights Defenders Day: ‘Honoring Courage and Resilience’
With funds from @bmz_bund we celebrate people who are defenders, fighters for women and girls rights. 50 people were invited including Line Ministries, teachers, parents, Family Support Unit, stakeholders, and network members to grace the occasion.
Overview of the 16days of Activism and the international human rights defenders day was done, panel discussion was done to talk about:
Women Human Rights Defender and what motivated them to take on the role in championing women and girls issues.
What they have experienced as human rights defenders, impact in addressing GBV and promoting human rights in Sierra Leone.
The perception of communities about the right of women and girls and the challenges women and girls face in sierra Leone.
Participants were pleaded in being part of the program which shows the resilience of women human rights defenders is a powerful reminder of the strength of courage, community, and the enduring belief in human dignity.
